Ukrainian students with power banks provided by LWCF

Three years ago, Russia initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, resulting in millions of internally displaced parents and children uprooted by war from their communities and schools. At first, LWCF solicited donations to purchase ipads/computers for kids who needed such a device to attend remote school and for their parents who needed to find employment in unfamiliar cities. Now, the needs have changed because of the extensive damage to the electrical grids in Ukraine: electricity and heat has been rationed or destroyed completely. Families need lights to survive, and lights require electricity. LWCF provided funds to purchase power banks and lamps for nearly 70 children whose parent has died fighting for their country – fighting to save their country’s democracy and freedom. The photos are of kids who received these tools; the videos are individual statements of gratitude to our generous donors to LWCF. Slava Ukraine!
