Fall 2024 Newsletter Update
In collaboration with four Ukrainian educators, Tamara Prydatko, Oleysa Kozlyshyna, Oksana Zaklevska, and Yulia Ozhha, the staff at Living Water was able to purchase and distribute 18 computer tablets to pupils in Khmelnyksyi, Rivne, and Lviv, Ukraine. The kids’ fathers died defending their country from the Russian invasion. In total, LWCF has distributed 57 tablets to kids in need in Ukraine.
Below are words, and pictures, of gratitude describing the receipt of these devices. The following was written by Tamara Prydatko, a Ukrainian educator instrumental in coordinating this LWCF program:
“Hello, good hearted people! Oleysa Kozlyshyna gave a tablet to the daughter of a defender who was seriously wounded fighting for Kyiv when ruzzians (sic) were attacking the capital of Ukraine. He still has bullets in his brain which doctors can not pull out. Because of that, he suffers from severe headackes (sic) and epilepsy. Little girl and her mother were so moved by your care and thanked all of you who contributed to the Fund and made this happen and your gift find (sic) this little daughter. Bless your hearts!”
The following quotes are from Oleysa Kozlyshyna, another Ukrainian educator instrumental in coordinating this LWCF program:
“A boy is unable to talk or hear, making traditional forms of communication and learning difficult. However, with the arrival of the tablet, his world has expanded significantly. Through the use of visual aids, educational apps and online resources, he is able to engage with content and information in a way that was previously inaccessible to him.”
“The tablet has become a source of great joy and empowerment for the teenager, who is described as being enthusiastic about studying and eager to learn. With the device in his hands, he is able to explore various subjects, access educational materials, and participate in interactive activities that cater to his unique needs and abilities.”
“For this boy, the tablet represents not just a piece of technology, but a gateway to a world of possibilities. It is a tool that enables him to overcome communication barriers, connect with others, and pursue his academic interests with renewed confidence and enthusiasm. His story serves as a reminder of the transformative power of technology in empowering individuals with disabilities and opening opportunities for learning and growing.”
“…Tablets were presented to these two wonderful boys. Their father was also killed at the front. They were very happy to get your kind present. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this donation!”
“Artem lives with his grandma. She called Oleysa Kozlyshyna and cried. She was so happy that Artem got such a present. She said Artem had his birthday on September 8th. None (sic) congratulated him…and he was very sad. And, then, he got this present! What a joy it was for him and his grandma. Thank you all for supporting Artem.”
“Oleysa gave a tablet to this young man whose father and uncle were killed at the front. Mother is an alcoholic. The boy is a first-year study student (sic) at the university and he does not have a computer or tablet which he needs to study and prepare for his classes…He says he is so grateful to you for your kind support because there is nobody to support him. He feels so thankful to such essential support.”
Please help LWCF continue this worthwhile investment in the future of Ukraine!
